Joe Connell | Rise of the Shredder

Joe Connell | Rise of the Shredder

Films, edits, reels or whatever you want to call them are in someways the lifeblood of our sport all year round but the style they are shot in can become a little repetitive. We can be led by technology and in some cases this is employed with spectacular results, we posted this film by Clay Porter/Metis Creative that uses slow motion, drones and the like to great effect but there’s also something in the simplicity of flat out action that makes it timeless.

This video from Stuart ‘Stuz’ Leel (Fresh Lab Visual) captures Joe Connell of the SC Intense team as the Shredder and harks back to the wide angle lens of Alex Rankin mixed with some pans capturing the flat out speed of Joe ragging his Intense through the woods. Bloody good to see something a bit different and the music just sets it all off, nice work Mr Leel.

We’re going to be taking a look back at some of the best footage from World Cups gone by in the near future but for now here’s a look at some bangers from 2014:

Laurie Greenland – Winter 2014 | Aspect Media capture Laurie at Rheola for some winter training.

Pivot Factory Racing 2014 | Recapping the season with Bernard Kerr and the team

RockShox – Prove Can’t Wrong | A statement in video form from RockShox about the commitment their riders have to riding at the highest level
