After an incredible race in Windham Wyn made his rounds in the pits to chat to the riders about their races for WynTV. First up the winning Junior Taylor Vernon was happy to be back on the podium after spending the early season picking up his speed from last years back injury.
Team Specialized, in the form of Aaron Gwin and Troy Brosnan landed the 2nd and 3rd spots in the race, swap those round to nicely match their new standings in the overall. It’s hellish tight at the top right now with just 82 points separating the top 3! Meribel is going to be like a mini Worlds with things so wide open, we’re gunning for Ratboy here at Dirt and hoping he can bring it home in a few weeks. Both riders seemed happy with their racing though and it was the smallest of mistakes that lost riders vital seconds on this track.
Catching up with Sam Blenkinsop Windham is the first time he has nailed back to back podiums in the World Cup series and he was chuffed to be up there with the fast boys. Sam Dale was showing off his freshly brewed Pale Ale that he launched at Windham, really good to see riders like Sam supporting the after party scene so well.
Star of the day, the black eye sporting, eagle tankard drinking whippet, Josh Bryceland. After sending a few sneaky lines and looking like he was going fast all weekend Josh threw down an amazing run and slipped himself into the overall leader’s jersey. Ratboy was showered in champagne and no doubt took a few beers in post race, great to see Josh shine after so much time racing.
We will be back in Meribel for the World Cup finals and no doubt the party in France will be even bigger if Josh does make the top step once more and walk away with the overall.
