Windham World Cup Video Highlights – Finals – 2014 UCI DH World Cup

Wow, what a race! We knew the racing was going to be close at Windham and so nobody expected Josh ‘Ratboy’ Bryceland to be able to lay down such sizeable a winning margin on the short and high-speed American track. Everyone was going absolutely flat out, and so to pull out any kind of margin over the other best riders in the world is pretty special indeed, and 1.58 seconds is nothing short of incredible. Josh is clearly in the best form he’s ever been, and is now the only rider to who has managed to take two wins this season. With him now leading the points race going into the last round in Meribel he could well walk away with the overall title this year, but with Gwin and Brosnan coming in second and third respectively in Windham the overall points are very tight indeed. The World Cup series will now very much be decided by the final race. Bring it on!

In the women’s field, French pocket-rocket Emmeline Ragot sprinted to the win by an even bigger margin of 2.88 seconds from Rachel Atherton and Tracey Hannah. Manon Carpenter could have wrapped the series up in Windham if she’d taken the win, but in the end her 4th place was just enough to keep her in the lead when it comes to the points battle. Ragot and Rachel are now close behind though so once again it’s all going to come down to the final race in Meribel.

With dry and dusty conditions, mixed with such a short track, riders were pushing it right to the edge. Recap on all the action with this banger of an edit from the Parkin Bros…
