Mont Sainte Anne – weather report

Don't forget your mac

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a tasty weekend of racing ahead at Mont Sainte Anne as the forecasts are promising storms throughout the weekend.

It’s currently blue skies with a smattering of white clouds on the ground but we don’t think it will stay that way for long:

Riders are out on trackwalk as we speak and although the ground will be dry, overnight rain (some sites are predicting thunder and lightning) should mean it’s moist for practice. It looks like we’ll get another period of sunny weather on Friday for qualifying before a potentially wet race on Sunday.

Last year’s race, won by Josh Bryceland, was run on a damp track on a sunny day but we have to go back to 2013 to find the last time the race was run in the rain, when the late, great Stevie Smith beat the rest of the field in the worst conditions of the afternoon.

We’ll let you know if the conditions change over the weekend but British hopefuls should be licking their lips at the chance of taking on this World Cup classic in their favorite conditions.
