In what will go down as one of the best day’s 4X racing in a long time, Dutchman Joost Wichman and Great Britain’s Fionn Griffiths have taken the wins here in Andorra. A dry, flat out track offered up a meaty dose of full-bore racing that saw many a rider pulling tricks and taking liberties all the way to the finish line. A few of the top boys took themselves out big time, with Rafeal de Lucas beasting himself on the monster six-pack halfway down. He wasn’t the only one carrying their bike over the line. Graves got the snap in the final and looked like having it, only to get pushed out in the first corner as Wichman skinned him on the inside. Graves got the spins in but couldn’t make up the ground, eventually overcooking it in the penultimate corner and eating dirt. He was looking far from happy after the race, not something you could say of Wichman who was understandably buzzing his tits off. In the women’s final Fionn Griffith’s stormed into first place as Jill Kintner and co beaned each other in the second corner, going down hard. Here are the official results.
