Victors Ste Anne Saturday 5-a-day

Six of the best from an action packed day in Mont Sainte Anne, Canada for UCI mountainbike round #6.

Sam Hill flies it like a ski-jumper into the void off the hip jump. This week Sam must have put a little slack in the throttle cable, he was pinned as ever, but well in control this time and stayed on two wheels till the line.

Peaty whips it over the box jump on a practice run. There was none of this park riding carry-on come race time though, he was all business
– fast, low and smooth. He wasn’t totally happy with his run, but it was good enough for 2nd. Which puts him just 4 points behind Sam Hill in the overall.

Last rider down and looking for her winning time as she crossed the line, Sabrina Jonnier was pleased to say the least. This reminds me of that movie Flashdance.

Another spy shot of the D3… Looks good from this angle eh?

When Graves got a puncture in the top half of the track everyone was sure he was going out in an early round. But he put the power down and still managed to beat Alvarez and Huntington to the line. How far ahead would he have been with some air in the tube? Either way he killed it and put himself 305 points ahead which means he has won the overall wit two rounds to go. Victory from the jaws of defeat.

Meanwhile, the girls are making a closer race of things. This week Anneke Beerten got the upper hand and grabbed herself just enough points to take the leaders jersey. But if my abacus is correct there are still 6 riders who could take the overall win.

Four finals, four winners and six photos from Victor Lucas in Monte Sainte Anne, Canada for four cross and downhill
