Victors 5-a-day Bromont World Cup Finals

Victor Lucas shows us his 5-a-day from the Bromont WC finals in Quebexico.

It’s been a hectic season with a lot of races, and the leaders jersey changing hands a few times. But all of a sudden there is just 1 round left with the whole series riding on it. After a so-so race last week, Greg Minnaar put in a killer run today and put himself back in contention for the overall which is now going down to the wire at Schladming in 7 weeks time.

Sabrina Jonnier put in a solid performance today and took enough points to win the overall – obviously she was pretty happy. So now she can spend the next few weeks thinking just about the World Champs, which must be looking within her grasp as Rachel Atherton is looking unlikely to race.

The 4X was a no-holds barred slug-fest, with several gut-wrenching crashes that took down Prokop, Atherton and Saladini. But Joost Wichmann pushed past both carnage and team-mates to his third win of the season.

While Kintner and Beerten battle for a line through the first corner, Fionn Griffiths sails through the open door and clears off for a win and enough points to put her in joint 2nd with Kintner, behind series leader Beerten.

Without doubt, star of the 4X show was 17 year old Mitch Ropelato, who styled it up every chance he got. 2009 has been a pretty good year for the kid – with a US National Champ title and now a 2nd place in his 2nd ever world cup race.
