Unofficial downhill track photos from the World Cup track at Mont Sainte Anne. I say “Unofficial” because it hasn’t been fully taped yet and could actually go anywhere
But as far as I could tell it looks similar to last year’s track with just a few new wooded sections added.
I’ll give you the full low down when the tape is up.
The start is in the same place as usual, but will just need a bit of a strim before the off.
Out of the start, fast left, fast right then it’s a flat out open piste. Not sure if it will veer left at the trees in the centre as per last year or branch off right on a new line.
This isn’t a new chicane section. It’s just tape that says “Track Closed, Keep Off”.
Georgette from the Media room said it had pissed it down in MSA over the past few months. A few of the turns look…soft.
The berm after the sketchy rock drop gets some blocks in her to firm things up.
This fast left handed has got pretty rough since last year, looks like they’re taping it further to the inside cutting out the rocky gullies.
Random
The famous MSA rock section is still in.
Not sure if this inside right hip was in last year, it’s a super fast line that will send you on down the slope at warp speed.
A new edition this year looks like a quarter pipe close up. A million miles an hour into a near vert lip. Might see some air and over-shoot off this puppy.
The finish section has been tweaked. The DH track skirts the 4x line up high then joins it on the last corner between the trees on the right.
The VIP tents are up but that’s about it in the pits. Should start filling up with teams from tomorrow.
