Results are in from qualifying in Mont Sainte Anne and things remain mostly unchanged for Women and Juniors. Manon took the lead by four seconds and is most likely eager to keep hold of her leaders jersey and gain as many points as possible. Rachel Atherton qualified in third, without speculating too much perhaps she still isn’t quite back up to strength after earlier this year and competition with Manon and Emmeline is certainly getting tougher. After putting in a great time yesterday, Tahnee Seagrave DNF and it seems the puncture curse is back – Katy Curd suffered a double flat and sadly this puts her out of the running for round 5. A notable result for Micayla Gatto in 5th, one of her best results this season.
In juniors, Luca Shaw remains fastest. Neil Stewart put down a great qualifying run, placing 5th followed by Taylor Vernon in 6th. Trek, young gun – Laurie Greenland qualified in 8th. It should be a close race tomorrow with some solid contenders in the category.
With Stevie Smith out of the running after injuring his good ankle in practice yesterday, Danny Hart went fastest in timed training. But as usual things have switched. Danny got a 4:19.176 in practice but Ratboy posted a 4:19.561 to sit in top spot after only 12 riders and he couldn’t be shifted. Riding his brand new steed for MSA, Ratboy is on it and eager to take win number two. Nine of the top 20 are Brits with only the likes of Troy Brosnan, Aaron Gwin, Sam Hill, Greg Minnaar and Andrew Neethling giving them a run for their money. Full results below..
