This is the only chance we get to know how fast everyone’s going down under. Qualification is already decided by UCI ranking so it’s a bit like timed training. It could mean nothing, or it could not. Let’s get into it:

Men Elite

Mick Hannah schooled the rest of the field on his home track to finish top in the men’s with the fastest splits. Last year’s winner, Loic Bruni, was second and Jack Moir third. For any Sam Hill fans, he was 12th but it looks like he didn’t put a shift in on the bottom pedal where he would surely make up some time.

Women Elite

Tahnee continued her strong end-of-season form to finish top in the women’s. She’s being chased hard by Myriam Nicole and Tracey Hannah.
