Matt Walker qualifies first in Lourdes juniors

Young gun lays down a scorcher

Britain’s Matt Walker has qualified first at the 2017 Lourdes World Cup with a blistering time of 3:02.721. Walker was one of the first riders down the hill and edged out Kaos Seagrave into second place.

17-year-old Walker was only five seconds off Gee Atherton’s fastest time from timed training yesterday, not bad considering Gee set the course record in the process. Iles was first down the hill and his time of 3:04.394 looked strong until the Shropshire lad flew into the finish. Kaos Seagrave then looked loose as always but clearly pulled out a strong run, coming in at 3:03.644.

Kade Edwards started his first ever World Cup strongly and grabbed fourth place while Sylvain Cougoureux finished fifth.
