The Santa Cruz 29ers finally showed their hand in qualifying as Loris Vergier went fastest and Luca Shaw third.
Vergier was sixth down the hill and his time of 2:2:52.684 never came close to beaten. Splitting the Syndicate members was Loic Bruni with a time of 2:53.106, just 0.1 ahead of Luca Shaw.
World Champion Danny Hart was fourth with a 2:53.329 and Aaron Gwin fifth on 2:53.992.
