We’ve just had word that Dan Atherton may have a broken collar bone after a nasty crash in DH practice out at the third round of the World Cup in Vallnord, Andorra. Well we’ve just spoken to his team manager Dan Brown and he told us that Dan Ath went to hospital after the crash for an X-ray and it is not broken. There is damage, but at present no one is sure what it is, or whether it will rule him out of both the 4X and DH this weekend. One year on from their historic wins (when Dan, Gee and Rachel all won), things aren’t looking too good for the Atherton family. With sister Rachel out and now possibly Dan, it just leaves younger brother Gee to fly the family and team flag in the DH finals on Sunday.
