When you are doing the World Cup tour on a monopoly budget, sleeping in the van like Wyn Masters, then spending money on a laundrette is out of the question. So race kit gets a scrub in the bike wash.
.
I saw a wedding photographer do this trick where he throws his camera in the air for a different shot. So I tried it out at the start of downhill practice today. Worked ok, but 3 grand of camera gear is a lot to blow on one shot. Good thing Dirt web editor Billy promised he would cover all my expenses for the next 20 years.
2 weeks in the countryside of Quebec has turned Greg Minnaar all hippie and he’s been letting his hair down to flow in the breeze as he cruises some runs. Hey punk, get a job and haircut.
Sam Hill must be pretty happy after his win last week. And with the weather making the technical Bromont course even more tricky, it looks like the kind of race where he could add a few more points to his leading margin.
If there was a trophy for most runs in a day, Michael Pascal would win it by miles. Everytime I turned around he was banging out another lap.
5-a-day snapper Victor Lucas and videographer John Lawlor chilling out in the hippy retreat somewhere in the Bromont woods. Lawlor reckoned he couldnt sleep because his bed squeaked so much. He turned it on it’s end and put his mattress on the floor. If that thing tips over in the night Lawlor will be trapped.
Victor is pretending to surf the internet, I am staying in the same hippy retreat and know full well that the internet doesn’t actually work. Also, see that table lamp? It’s one of those that you touch and it switches itself on, I thought mine had a loose wire and shook it until the top fell off.
Oh and another thing this photo has the Lucas watermark, but was infact taken by me albeit with the Lucas camera…how does that work for invoicing? 6040 Victor?
