Downhill

Andorra 6-a-day Sunday

Steve Peat is the greatest mountain biker of all time, it’s right there in today’s results. Victor Lucas was there to capture all the action. Read on and find out just what went wrong with Sam’s smoking race run…

Sam Hill was looking like he was going to wipe the floor with
everyone today. Up at the split, he was ready to rip the forest apart until
he flat landed the step down in a horrendous looking stem ride to face
plant. As hard as he tried he couldn’t make up the lost time. Keep her
steady Larry.

The only Atherton currently with two healthy shoulders, Gee
took it home to second spot. No triple was on the cards for the gang this
year.

Peaty schooled them again, and now he’s officially a legend
with more world cups wins than any other rider. There’s plenty of life in
the old dog yet.

There weren’t too many places on this track with a lot of line
choice – but the first rock drop was one. A few riders tried to be clever by
going round a rock and staying high. Most people rode the rock and bashed
the rutted berm. For once Peaty agrees with the herd and chose the
conventional line.

At last a good result for Bryn Atkinson. Despite riding with a
damaged thumb that meant he couldn’t shift gears, Bryn managed 8th place.
We’ll say nothing about the Day-Glo riding outfit.

Emmeline Ragot is a rider that always pins it in practice but
suffers under pressure come Sunday. This time she had a clean run and put
herself in second spot.andorra-6-a-day-sunday
