Here’s another great reason to spend the British winter down under in New Zealand.
After being talked about for years the Queenstown gondola in New Zealand is finally getting kitted out to carry bikes for a four-month trial period from January 24 to May 29 next year.
Fraser Gordon from the Queenstown Mountain bike club says: “The gondola is situated right in downtown Queenstownand climbs 500 vertical metres to access Ben Lomond forest above the town, there are heaps of sick DH tracks already there with more being planned for the future. We want Queenstown to become the “Whistler” of the southern hemisphere and it’s all kicking off next January”
