A promo video of young Bristol racer George Lynch, he’s had some good race results so far and could be one to look out for in the future.
Name? George Lynch
Where do you live? Bristol
How old are you? 11
How long have you been riding bikes? I have been riding properly for two years now.
You’ve started racing, how did you manage to do that so young? I started doing the Forest of Dean Mini downhill races which allow me to race in my age group, 10 to 11. As the racing is limited for my age group we arranged that i could be assessed by British Cycling and then they decided to give me permission to race in Juvenile throughout 2010 which allowed me to enter many more races.
What bike do you ride? I ride a Giant AC 2 with some custom geometry.
Where do you ride most? I ride at a spot in the Mendips about 30 minutes from my home or Triscombe down near Bridgwater most of the time.
Who are your idols? I really look up to Brendan Fairclough especially after watching him at the World Cups and seeing him at my local riding spot. I also look up to Gee Atherton because he is consistent and fast and because he has the same name as me of course! Josh Brycland is another rider i look up to because of his riding style and he is a young successful rider who i want to be like.
What is your current Facebook status? Loving my new Fox 36s!
What are your plans for the future? Short term, to try take the National Champs next year and win any of the races I attend. In the long term i want to race World Cup races be at the top of my game of course, who doesn’t?
