If you live in the Chester area then you need to be thanking Oneplanet Adventure because their support has helped ensure Chester will be hosting the regional launch of the movie ‘Won’t Back Down – The Steve Peat Story’ on the 20th March. All proceeds will be going to the Ride for Michael Charity, an extremely worthy cause, and in order to help raise as much money as possible on the night a charity auction will also be held. By the sounds of it there are already some great lots up for grabs in the auction, and hopefully we can find some things here at Dirt to throw into the mix.
So if you fancy watching this awesome film with a few beers, amongst like minded people, and in aid of an awesome cause, then click here to get your tickets booked NOW! They only cost a tenner and are selling out like hot cakes, so get in there quick!
The evening, being organised by CJL Events will take place on the 20th March 2014 at Alexanders, Chester, UK.
The Regional Premiere represents the first opportunity for the local mountain bike community to see Clay Porter & John Lawlor’s brilliant film since December’s hugely successful global premieres.
“From his humble beginnings in his hometown of Sheffield, England, Steve Peat has established himself as one of the world’s most iconic cyclists. Peaty has been competing at the top level in his chosen sport of downhill mountain bike racing for the past 23 years, longer than the lifetime of many of his current competitors. Through 20 years of archival footage and photos and intimate interviews with Steve, his family, close friends and competitors, Won’t Back Down takes viewers on a captivating tour of the history of the sport of downhill mountain bike racing and offers a never-before-seen view into the life and legacy of this enduring icon.”
Thanks to the fantastic support of Clay Porter, John Lawlor, and the venue, 100% of proceeds will be donated to rideformichael.org
