Greg Minnaar Wins World Cup Round 6 in La Bresse, France but Aaron Gwin wins the overall with a round to spare.
As usual World Cup racing at its best. This time around it was Greg Minnaar that put down the killer run…but how close was Gee Atherton (about half a second). Minnaar’s run was the story of the day, but with Aaron Gwin slotting into third place it means that he has won the World Cup Overall title with a round to spare. Third place in La Bresse means that he is 310 points in the lead. The maximum amount of points available at the final round in Val di Sole is 250, so he’s done it. Minnaar won the battle, but Gwin has one the war. And Gwin becomes the first American male rider to ever win the World Cup Series.
Sad to say it, but Steve Peat has been disqualified for going out of the tapes and on the wrong side of a course marker pole near the top the course in the open section.
Some amazing results for the other Brits.
