VIVA LA CHICKSANDS
I guess everyone can agree with me when I say when you ride somewhere everyday it can eventually get boring. Well its definitely given me a kick of enthusiasm to grab the bull by the horns and create something awesome.
Too long have Welsh/Scottish trail centres ruled the ultimate weekend away riding (not saying they aren’t great). I’m just hoping we can build an even more interesting Chicksands, giving you the opportunity to come and play bikes without having to travel so far.
Just some background for everyone. We started Chicksands Bike Park some 10 years ago, what was then a club has now turned into a full community interest company with a secured 10 year lease. We have a team of 5 volunteers who run and build the bike park in their spare time and just want to create a great facility for everyone who loves riding bikes.
So there is a lot going on at the park at the moment, from dig days, racing, online improvements, grading, basically a complete redevelopment.
We are currently liaising with FC to finalise agreements on the following trails:
Beginners Jump Area
Beginner Drop Offs
3 new Pump Tracks
Beginners Flow Course
More Progressive Jumps Around The Park
A New Singletrack
More Trails to replace the northshore lines.
Additions To Our Current Jump Area
New Trail Grading
We’ve decided to use a new trail grading system around the park so you guys can choose your trails a bit easier. We are working with FC to introduce a universal grading system similar to Forest of Dean.
Winter 4X Series
Fancy an easy going, fun race series to try out 4X? This is the ideal race for beginners who would like to try 4X for the first time, or seasoned pros looking to keep their snap in top condition over the winter period.
