VigoBike Contest results

A few British riders were in action at Vigo, Spain over the weekend. Tracy Moseley stomped the womens (and won a huge basket of fruit by the looks of it) with Manon Carpenter not too far behind in second. (A good Spainsh trip for the Carpenters, dad Jason won the Vets category, hopefully he’ll send us a video of what went on)

Marc Beaumont took second, 0.9 behind winner Bernat Guardia Pascual. Brendan Fairclough in 4th, Danny Hart 6th, Matt Simmonds 8th, Bernard Kerr 9th and Tom Deacon in 10th.

Treks new signing Neko Mulally wrapped up the juniors with a time that would have put him 6th in Elite.

Here’s a report that I think was in Spanish but could have been in Portugese, anyway I ran it through a translator and this is what came out.

Warning: contains some great sentences like “…Toni Ferreiro that carried out an almost perfect lowering with the one that marked the best time in the goal line to the wait of the seven fastest stopwatches…”

At last the sun on the mounts was done of coruxo for the third day of the VigoBikeContest, after two days passed through water. And the one that more benefit removed to the modifications of the land was him Catalonian Bernat Guard that was imposed before the riders faster of the international panorama. The first surprise from the day gave it the of Vigo Toni Ferreiro that carried out an almost perfect lowering with the one that marked the best time in the goal line to the wait of the seven fastest stopwatches on Saturday. The first one in improving the spaniard was Guard that a registration was marked that seemed insurmountable like thus I am shown finally, in spite of the fact that remained the two large favorite, the britanicos Brendam Faircloug and Marc Beaumont. Fairclough recognized that lacked him concentration and the errors that was committing along their lowering they left the just behind Ferreiro. Marc Beaumont, better time in the semifinal on Saturday, could neither approach the stopwatch of Guardía although if that would surpass to a Toni Ferreiro, third in the end, that each year shows an upper level and seems that this year is prepared to offer us large results in the World Cup.

The British Tracy Moseley and Manon Carpenter they were not left to surprise for the change of conditions of the land that caused the sunrise and repeated again results, first and second respectively. The third plaza if that suffered variations with regard to the semi of Saturday. The Catalonian Victory Hernández took advantage of a fall suffered in the last meters by the local Rose Martínez to be carried the third Plaza. Rose Martínez the quarter plaza would be complied with.

In American junior Neko Mulally showed again its power on the of Vigo Alejandro Caamaño that would finish second. Mulally achieved besides the sixth better absolute time what speaks of the level of this rider that is fighting for manage to be the new champion of the world junior this season. The third position would be for the of Santiago de Compostela Abel Rial.

A year more and already are eleven consecutive editions of the trophy Cidade of Vigo of Mountain Bike met again to a good part of the better riders international before one of the better fondnesses to this sport that met to some 5,000 especatadores in the mounts of coruxo, many foot and a lot on its bicycles. It tests of it were the enormous queues that were formed to enter and to leave the immediacies of Fragoselo.
