That’s it season done! Don’t think I could take much more excitement.
Sabrina Jonnier was taking this race seriously for sure, she was fastest through the speed trap at 40kmh and had a good 2nd split, but she ended up 5 seconds off Moseley. Still, the only thing she really had to do this weekend was turn up to collect her overall trophy.
Tracy Moseley surprised a lot of people today with a fast consistent run, although she wasn’t fastest through all of the splits – World Champ Ragot was faster in split one. But Tracy kept it together and made it to the bottom with no mistakes. She wins today and bumped herself up another spot to 2nd overall.
Greg Minnaar was looking to win at this race more than any other. It was an all or nothing game for him in a bid for the overall. But things didn’t go his way today and he has to settle for 3rd in the race and a 2nd overall to add to his 2nd at the Worlds.
Sam Blenkinsop won here last year in damp conditions, but the course was relatively dry and extremely rough this year, Blinky put in an amazing run but couldn’t quite match Hill.
Sam Hill, last man down the hill takes the crown. When his first split was over 2 seconds faster than anyone else, the crowd got a sort of déjà vu feeling. He was the favourite to win here and the track clearly suits him, he put down an effortless looking run that gave him a clear win and the overall World Cup title.
