David Vasquez announced the end of his World Cup career at the end of this season but has now signed up with MSC Bikes in a testing role.
As far as the MSC World Cup team goes we think Mick Pascal will be on board, with probably a French junior rider. Watch this space.
PRESS RELEASE:
Rightly ended David Vázquez’s sports professional career, we would like to take this opportunity, today on January 11th, to present him as a new employee of MSC Bikes.
David Vázquez has been linked for many years to Gavà’s brand, both in professional and in personal area, becoming an international standard of the brand. A good sample of it are his two victories in the World Cup, a victory in the Maxxis Cup International Championship and several victories of the Spanish Championships achieved with MSC Bikes colours.
After a couple of years competing out of the structure of the team, David Vázquez comes back again to the place which most people consider his home: MSC Bikes.
As a company member he is going to be a tester of new products like the new range of MSC Bikes bicycles, its components and tires. He is also going to be the link between the company and the specialized press.
David: “After 17 years competing and 13 seasons in the International level, I have decided to end my sports career and try to contribute with MSC Bikes with all my Mountain bike experience. MSC Bikes is a company that I know very well because I was in its competition team for five seasons, from 2003 to 2007. A new stage begins for me and it motivates me a lot because I will continue learning and it will give a new direction to my personal life”.
“Many people have asked me if I totally put an end to my sports career and I only can answer that I will not compete in a professional level but after considering my priorities, I will compete in some races in order to see all my friends and to test new products.”
