Swatch Bikepark Livigno operated by Mottolino:
A successful season 2009 – News for 2010

Livigno, Italy, October 26th 2009 – The Swatch Bikepark Livigno looks back on a diversified season 2009. The annual “Freeride Competition” marked its end, but the Mottolino Fun Mountain crew is already making plans for 2010 and therefore gained great input from a well known specialist: Kona Clump team rider John Cowan visited Livigno to give some hints for upgrading the various bike park trails. So watch out for the Swatch Bikepark Livigno opening on June 12th 2010.

John Cowan, Kona’s bike park specialist and head course builder of the Crankworx Slopestyle, visited the Swatch Bikepark Livigno for a few days to ride with the Mottolino Kids Freeride team. The teens showed him all the trails and he gave them some special advices for improving their riding skills. But John was also on a mission: He analyzed the whole range of trails and gave detailed advices for improving and upgrading the bike park. Livigno’s trails are already well known for their great flow, but the Madness Freeride team is now planning new obstacles. Be anxious to see what’s up to come for 2010.
The Swatch Bikepark is already pretty popular among the pros: Trial legend Hans “No Way” Rey is a frequent guest in Livigno, and riders like Benny Korthaus, Lluis Lacondeguy, Bobby Root or Tibor Simai also enjoyed a few days at the Mottolino Fun Mountain in 2009. Thinking of the new obstacles for 2010, Livigno promises to be the pure trails heaven next season.

The Swatch Bikepark celebrated this years’ end of season with their annual “Freeride Competition”. The park has never been that busy in 2009 like during this last Weekend in September. Over 60 riders competed and many more riders came to enjoy the trails a last time before the bike park closing. The “Freeride Competition” included three different disciplines: the “Easy Downhill”, the “Jump Session” on Livigno’s dirt jump line, and the “Trick Trial” on the big air cushion at the “Swatch Shoot my Ride” area. The last discipline was the most impressive one. Numerous spectators watched the young guns performing tricks like backflips, superman seat grabs or 360 combos on the big air cushion. The prize giving and after party marked Livigno’s season end for 2009.

But the 2010 season is up to come. The Swatch Bikepark Livigno operated by Mottolino will open from June 12th to September 26th. On the first weekend (June 12th and 13th) you will get a two day ticket for the price of a single one. So take your chance and plan your trip to Livigno on its opening weekend 2010 and enjoy its improved trails.
