Sunday Morning Update

The weather lady has been sacked for wildly inaccurate forecasts, the “impending monsoon” that she confidently predicated has not yet occurred.

This morning the mist and fog have again veiled the mountain top in a thick white blanket, though the sun is already beginning to burn a whole through that very blanket.

This was the sky at 09.00am this morning, the fog is already lifting, teasing us with glimpses of blue.

So it looks set for a dry day, some riders where hoping for a splash of rain to spice things up and perhaps make rolling conditions faster. Spikes are still the tyre of the day, with a lot of folk cutting the centre row down.

It’s been hard to gauge who’s looking fast, Hill and Brendog for instance have been blitzing some sections then stopping and cruising the next section (the very section I had been waiting patiently for an hour to film, sod’s law). Neethling always seems to look quick in practise, Gracia has local knowledge but due to his damaged wrists hasn’t been able any runs prior to this weekend.
CRC manager Nige Page tells me his team are liking the track, RoyCat especially so. All Athertons are upbeat, Dan especially so after his stonking win last night.
The Syndicate mob are pretty confident too, Peat’s mechanic Rick told us the V10 was running a treat.

In short everybody seems positive at the moment, even DirtTV tartlet Cunny, who is also racing, is enjoying the track (wonders will never cease).
