Shimano have teamed up with several of their sponsored racers and developed this Olympic “race tuned” specification of their PD-M647 pedal. It’s kind of tweaked to meet the special requirements of world class BMX racers.
Apparently there are only 20 sets in the world, with ten fortunate riders getting two pairs each. A training pair and a race day pair.
This pedal is based on the PD-M647 platform and has been modified to assure that the rider does not unclip under the extreme power loads at the starting gate.
