DH practice yesterday … what can i say about the DH here that hasnt
been said? no real work done on it since last year according to most,
nice uphill in the middle, not really technical, but there was sunny
skies. That last one changed saturday morning though … wet and gloomy.

In the constant quest for improved suspension manufacturers and riders
are trying new ways to eke every ounce/inch of benefit out of
suspension. What we see here is a series of bearings at either end of
the spring which aim to reduce the spring’s ongoing quest to return to
its wound state when under compression. As the shock compresses the
spring wants to wind out – these bearings help reduce that effect.
Some riders were running one of these last year and now they are
trying two up.

Clay Porter had his official US Premiere last night in downtown
Monterey … a few of us couldnt get in to the world premiere in
Pietermaritzburg so it was good to finally see The Tipping Point. The
theatre was packed with a veritable who’s who of the MTB gravity scene
and all but one of us managed to stay awake throughout.

10 speed is here for DH. Not 2 chainrings and a 5 sprocket cassette…
but a proper 10 block cluster on the back and shifter on the front.
The keen eyed among you will notice the new color co-ordinated X-0
parts…in fact those of you who read will notice this too!
