Schladming Freelap

You can now get the chance to time yourself acurately down the World Cup track at Schladming, Austria.

Read on below.

Planai Bikepark is the first Austrian bikepark equipping his 4X- and Downhill-Track with Freelap transmitters. That way, those two tracks are the first Worldcup-tracks in the world offering the possibility for an exact timing based on electromagnetic fields. The permanent transmitters, which are being installed under the tracks, allow the riders to take their precise runtime automatically.
The Downhill track will be equipped with two additional transmitters in order to offer the riders split times or just to concentrate on certain sectors of the track.

The Freelap-System is based on magnetic fields which are being emitted by the transmitters and registered by a receiver (Stopwatch). The Stopwatch can be worn on the wrist or just be fixed on the handle bar for a better visibility.
Representing a perfect training tool, this system is already being used by many Downhill- and 4X-riders all over the world. It allows an individual preparation for the races and the possibility to compare exact times between training partners.
Riders who don’t have their own Freelap-Stopwatch are given the possibility to rent it for a daily fee of 10,- € at the [pi:tu] Bikecenter in the finish arena of the Bikepark Schladming.
