Scandinavian Photo Challenge 2011: Behind the Scenes and Team Norway

Here we go, the first slideshow from this year’s Scandinavian Photo Challenge from Are, Sweden, and a look behind the scenes.

OK, so you should know what the deal is, the Scandinavian Photo Challenge is a competition that gets together five of the worldʼs best mountainbike photographers with teams of great riders in Åre, Sweden. They get to shoot the hell out of the place for three days (everything from pouring rain to scorching sunshine) and then they have two days to come up with a killer slideshow.

I’ve talked to quite a few people about this year’s event and there is a real buzz about it. It sounds like it was an incredible experience for everyone involved…the riders, the judges and of course the photographers.

It is a truly international affair and we are starting off firstly with a behind the scenes look at what the Photo Challenge is all about and then with the slide show of fifth place Team Norway. We should point out that Norwegian Kristoffer Kippernes (even though finishing fifth) still won three individual categories: Best Scenic Action, Best Close–up Action and All Mountain. We’ll be drip–feeding you the other shows over the next weeks, which should hopefully coincide with a feature in Dirt 115.
