It’s been fairly scorchio up till now, but this morning the clouds have arrived bringing rain to the Vallnord Bike Park. It’s a shame because the 4x track was pretty dry for last nights qualifying, with the last straight doubles being open for business.
Weather Update:It’s 10.00 am here and the rain is slooshing it down, should be good for the downhill (more practise today 12-15.00) but means the 4x will be a ploughing match (finals tonight from 18.00 local time.)
Weather Update: It’s 12.00 noon now and the rain has stopped, the mountains are shrouded in mist and fog. I think a weather presenter might summarize with a phrase like “scattered showers”
Weather Update: It’s 16.00pm local time, the mist has cleared and the rain has stopped, the weather forecaster would have probably apologised for previously saying “scattered showers” and changed her summary to “mild, slight wind, cloudy…how about overcast?”
The DH track is cutting up nicely with some lovely looking roots coming through, it’s looking more like Innerleithen by the hour, the Brits should feel quite at home here. Since the track is fairly short with a quick chairlift rider’s are getting a ton of runs in.
Due to a technical balls up, the internet is going to be shut down in the press tent for most of today and tomorrow, but I have purchased some carrier pigeons from a local farmer, so the news will continue to fly.
