Photography competitions ahoy

First up I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “What happened to the howies/Dirt photo competition?” Well I can tell you we have picked a winner and will be announcing the result later.

Next up we have a KONA photo competition. It doesn’t matter if you’re big, small, pro, amateur, ride DH or
commute via cruiser; the contest
is open to anyone who has a love for the bicycling lifestyle
and photographic arts.

So, here’s the deal: Snap images of your bike, your friends bike, your
friend’s friend’s bike, ripping trail, chillin’ at the local coffee shop,
commuting through rush hour traffic, hucking off jumps or
delivering the newspaper … whatever, as long as it permeates with
elements of the riding lifestyle.

Take the right shots and win a $50 Kona store shopping spree for third
place, $150 for second and $500 for first. Time to get the Kona clothing
and accessories you’ve always wanted.

But, the gig doesn’t end there. The top three photographers selected by
the bike-guru-photo-editors at Kona will be published in the 2009 Kona
catalog which is slated to hit the streets this August. This is your time to
get the fame, recognition, self-gratification and increased popularity you
deserve for toting the camera around.

Email your top images to [email protected] before
May 15, 2008. For more info check the webber.

Next up.

7Stanes photo competition.

Basically you need to take a snap of these sculptures and you could win a camera.

The competition is focused around the new seven stone sculptures which depict the myths and legends of southern Scotland. The sculptures have recently been installed across the 7stanes mountain bike centres, as part of a drive to encourage people to visit Scotland’s forests.

The huge eye catching works of art have taken six months to create and will provide visitors to the forest with an experience to remember. The ‘stanes’ have been placed in prominent locations near cycling and walking paths and range in size from one to three metres high and from two to six tons in weight.

For full details of this comp check the webber.
