So then, Steve Peat has been out in Portugal at the 2016 Portugal Cup round 1 in São Brás de Alportel (UCI Cat 2). Remember that he needs 30 points to qualify for this years World Cup race season, his final one. The problem was/is that he needed to finish in first place to get enough points, and he ended up in ninth! So what does this mean? He’ll either have to find another race where he thinks he can get points or he will have to go to British Cycling and ask them for help before the first round in Lourdes in April. Watch this space.
