Could the PeakRider make hike-a-biking easier?

The latest Kickstarter brainwave

(Click to play)

Hike-a-biking is one of the necessary evils in mountain biking. It’s the reason we use uplifts, shuttles and even e-bikes but there are still some places where all you can do is throw your bike over your back and hiking.

On Kickstarter this morning, we noticed the Peakrider that claims to make hike-a-biking hands free and even fun. It’s basically a pole that sits in your backpack and fits into a cup that you attach around the BB area of your bike. If the videos is anything to go by, the result is a much easier way to carry your bike.

Ines Thoma is already on board along with 110 backers on Kickstarter who have got it halfway to its funding goal.

R.R.P is about €80 and they’re due to be released around February.  We know this sis a pretty niche product but if you ride a lot of big mountains, then this could well be worth checking out.
