Tuesday 28 August…..by Big Bad Bob

So now its all go loads of stuff is arriving and things are beginning to take shape. Both the grandstands are up, the 1st big marquee is being built and a satellite dish has appeared on the roof of the porta cabins so looks like Mike has got the plasma TV installed! He swears it’s for the broadband but I don’t believe him. Two big car transporters turned up this morning with lots of shiny Nissans for ferrying stuff around.

Track wise, yesterday was the last day open to the public for the next 2 weeks so a certain gent was riding dressed to impress!

I was up at the natural section today with a squad shifting some big bits of metal ‘cheese grater’ bridges into place to cross a boggy section. Then we took some gravel up to get rid of some nasty water ruts. Lovely midge weather this morning the wee bar stewards were out in force. Think I will do a midge/world cup survival guide soon. For the second day in a row the sun has come out just as everyone is finishing for the day
