The veneral Godfather of the World Cup circuit Mont Sainte Anne will once again be hosting the World Championships in 2019.

Mont Sainte Anne last held the World Champs in 2010 when Tracy Moseley and Sam Hill triumphed. It is a record third time that MSA has hosted downhill’s biggest race with the first being in 1998 – that time Vouilloz and Chausson (surprise, surprise) triumphed. It is Canada’s fourth time hosting the event though as Bromont also held the ’92 Worlds – this was an all American affair with Juliana Furtado (now of Juliana bikes fame) and BMXer Dave Cullinan taking the win.

The decision was made at the UCI Management Committee which is being held in Doha, Qatar at the road World Championships. Cycling Canada now has sixty days to confirm the event budget before it’s all official.

Before Mont Sainte Anne we will have Cairns next year and Lenzerheide in 2018 to look forward to.
