Will Longden takes over as Madison Saracen team manager

Will “The Thrill” Longden takes over from Tim “Dodgy Ticker” Flooks as Madison Saracen team boss.

Here’s hoping that big Tim gets well soon.

Will Longden Appointed As New Madison Saracen Team Manager

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Will Longden as the new Madison Saracen downhill team manager. Will takes over the reins from Tim Flooks, who was appointed in November last year and had this to say : “After landing a dream job and getting to know the team it’s devastating to have to leave due to my dodgy ticker playing-up again. On the positive side it’s a great relief to have Will step in and take over the reins. They are a great bunch of riders and I know the team is in good hands and can look forward to many podiums during the season.” Tim Flooks

Will is a well-known face on both the domestic and international race scenes and is a four-time British Mountain Bike Champion, gaining titles in Downhill, 4X and Dual slalom during his racing career.

“It’s a tall order to follow in the footsteps of Tim but I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity. I’ve spent a lot of years racing and being part of the World Cup circuit, so to be able to carry that on and help young riders achieve their goals and dreams is something I’m really looking forward to. Hopefully my experience can guide them to some great results again this year.” Will Longden.

In December Will was appointed as Downhill Co-ordinator for British Cycling and we feel that this appointment speaks volumes about Will’s ability to lead the Madison Saracen team on to even more glory during the 2012 season, both on the World Cup and domestic stages.”

“You never know what life will chuck at you and we’re really gutted for Tim but his health has to come first and he’ll always remain a close friend of the team. But as one chapter in the Madison Saracen DH team closes another one starts and we delighted that the team management is seamlessly passing from one well respected pair of hands to another. Will has all the credentials you could ask for and is a worthy successor to Tim and further strengthens our team for the future. I can’t wait for this season!” Dominic Langan, Madison CEO

We wish Tim all the very best for the future and give thanks for the positive changes he bought to the Madison Saracen team during his brief tenure.

The Madison Saracen team will be competing in the 2012 UCI World Cup and British Downhill Series, as well as select rounds of the Gravity Enduro Series, IXS Cup and other events such as Crankworx.

We look forward to Will taking the team into the 2012 season and wish the team every
