Production Privée are a new Andorran based company (you might have seen the bars and stem we featured in issue #120 recently) who make all sorts of bits and bobs including this sweet super slack steel hardtail.
We’ve got a full build here at the office and have been pinging it round the local trails recently, so expect to see a full test on it soon.

Where did the name Shan come from? Damien from Production Privée says: “Briefly the Shan was first meant to be the “beixalis” (baychalys), it’s one of our favorite spots where we ride enduro here in Andorra with all our friends, and it was the perfect bike for that mountain. But it didn’t sound quiet easy to pronounce for everybody and it was maybe too personal.
Then there’s the spot in Taichung in Taiwan where we ride which is called Dadu Shan. Shan means mountain in mandarin. Because our bike is oriented to be ridden for light or big mountain enduro we thought in our modest opinion to be cool to give a little glimpse to that spot we love. And Shan is way more easy to pronounce 😉 and as it’s a four letter, it was also easier to work on graphics logo for the bike. ”
Oh and this Macaw had something to do with the name and colour scheme too!
