When it comes to efficient energy use, the bicycle leaves all other modes of transport in the dust; for the same effort required to walk three miles, a person can easily travel 15 miles by bike…. although have you ever tried pedaling 15 miles on your big fat downhill beast? Actually, I do know someone who pedalled from Lands End to John O Groats on an Orange 222.
