Hafjell Bike Park at risk of closure

With the gears of Twitter and Facebook spinning out of control it seems that the rumours could well be true, the owners of Hafjell Bike Park are considering closing it for the 2014 summer season. This seems like a pretty bonkers move to us after there have been some amazing events there, especially the World Cups where the track received positive feedback from riders.

We got an email from a source that wishes to remain anonymous but who assured us that the owners, Alpinco (who refused to comment) are considering closing the park for the summer. With the World Champs coming up and some top events having already been held there we can only conclude that this could be a decision based on business rather than passion for riding.

Either way there is a good hoo haa raging and rightly so, we think Hafjell should stay put so if you agree then head over to the Facebook page that has been setup to centralise the cause. Share your good experiences there and tell the world why it should stay open, go!

And in case you needed reminding of how rad this place is then check out DirtTV from World Cup Finals last season.

Oh yeah and THAT gap, here’s Joe Smith sending it in praccy last year.
