The iXS DH racing at Crankworx Les Deux Alpes kicked off with Saturday seeding yesterday, and with all manner of top level racers competing things got pretty rowdy.
L2A’s downhill race course is more about the jumps (the clue is in the title) than ‘proper’ downhill stuff, but it makes for some great action and riders seem to have fun riding it. From top to bottom it’s jump after jump, some good, some a touch shady if we may say so. In between the jumps is… well, pretty much just piles of dust and braking bumps. There isn’t a great deal of tech, but hit it at speed and it’s still going to put riders’ skills to the test.

Big names from the World Cup scene are abundant here, with the likes of the Lapierre, GT, Commencal and Giant teams all present. But when the clock was running in qualifying it was the one and only WynTV Masters who qualified first! Congratulations Wyn. As a side-note, the Kiwi is on target for hitting the most races raced in a year… more about that at a later date.
