The final day of Crankworx Les Deux Alpes brought sore heads from the slopestyle after party and also the iXS downhill finals.
A course that didn’t go down too much of a storm with racers – many citing it dangerous – some elected to take it easy here (not least Rachel Atherton, who didn’t race at all), but Loic Bruni was certainly not one of those. The French Lapierre rider destroyed the field with an advantage of nearly five seconds to second-place Remi Thirion, with Sam Blenkinsop in third.
Myriam Nicole started as she means to go on, with a marginal win in her injury comeback race over Tracey Hannah, the leaders of the pack with eight seconds back to third-placed Emelie Siegenthaler.
