Justin Barcia is a man who knows how to whip.

I asked Moto Magazine editor Ben for a brief explanation of why the moto guys whips are a whole lot better than MTB whips:

“If you listen they’re revving the heck out of the bikes to create enough rear wheel speed to get an extreme gyroscopic effect on the go. An engine has a natural one just from running which is enough to get regular whips back round, along with the natural arc of whip, but those guys really have to take it to extreme to get it back round. They really use their knees and legs to force the bike back round too.

The whole approach to whipping on an MX bike is different though – you always do one from a seated position using the compression and natural rebound of the suspension under engine load to fire you into the arc.”
