Deity used to be a name that we only really associated with dirt jump products, but their latest range of bars also includes some great trail and DH bars.
First up are the new Dirty30 bars which come with a fairly low 25mm rise and a 760mm width. That should be pretty much perfect for many trail and DH riders alike. The 9 degree backsweep and 5 degree upsweep shape seems to becoming the industry norm these days, and so it’s not surprising that they feel spot on. The new ‘gradient butted’ 7075 T6 aluminium construction has resulted in these being 20% stiffer and stronger than their predecessor, yet at 304g their weight is still highly competitive. We reckon the the mix of bead blasted and polished finish looks ace, Deity have definitely really stepped things up when it comes to finish in the past two years. These bars are priced at £59.99.
If those bars are still not wide and low enough for you then Deity’s new Blacklabel bars are 787mm wide, have a 15mm rise, and sell for exactly the same price. As their name suggests though, they are only available in black. You still get all the fancy butted construction though, plus a fancy finish, and despite being a fair bit wider they only weigh 2g more at 306g. Oh, and the bends are the same too.
The final updated bars which we’ve been sent by Deity are their 735mm wide Topsoil bars which come with a 50mm rise. These are of course more suited to dirt jump use. Bend wise it’s once again a case of 9 degree backsweep and 5 degree upsweep, and these bars also benefit from the new gradient butted technology which makes them stiffer and stronger than before. The level of finish is just as high as the Dirty30 bars, yet for some reason these will cost you a fiver less at £54.99. Maybe it’s cos at 300g there’s 4g less aluminium in them?
