Enduro 2 – Enduro just became a team sport

Enduro 2 – Enduro just became a team sport

After the rise and rise of Enduro racing in recent years we all understand what the deal is. Stage racing, often over multiple days with the (mainly) downhill bits timed and the liaison stages in between not so. The format might have been going for over ten years but this coming summer there’s something a bit different coming. One of the great things about Enduro racing is the social aspect, spinning round with your mates then comparing timed sections after the clock has stopped. Enduro 2 combines the times of two riders making things bit more interesting when it comes to tactics and individual strengths. Here’s the word from the organisers, the same crew that brought you the Trans Savoie

Riding in pairs on all the best bits (not just the uphills and liaisons), Enduro2 delivers downhill stage racing in some of the best terrain in the French Alps, in a format that focuses on camaraderie and friendship. Think high fives and man/girl-hugs, and stopping mid-stage to help your mates, rather than riding straight over their flailing body to a fastest possible finish…

This fresh event is ridden completely blind on amazing Alpine singletrack in teams of two, covering 100km and a massive 12,000m of descending in one long weekend. The location is secret to protect the awesome natural terrain and to prevent practising. The main focus is shredding great trails with your favourite people, with uphills assisted to maximise the descents – starting and finishing each stage together to experience all the adrenaline and adventure in the moment, and to enjoy the stunningly beautiful Savoie high Alpine forests and wilderness in early summer.

Teamwork and tactics on how best to work together will be a factor in getting the best results at Enduro2, and we’re excited about seeing each pair’s unique interpretation of this strategy during our first event. Enduro2 is affordable and convenient, with dates chosen at the end of June that could easily be made into a long weekend for most northern European riders, there’s a team-matching service that partners riders together if required, and the race entry-only option starts at €249/£199 including uplift. A range of more expensive accommodation packages and transfers from Geneva are also available.

Full details and entry procedure are over on the Trail Addiction website. Enduro2 entries open on February 28th 2015. The event is brought to you by Trail Addiction, the team behind the Trans-Savoie race each August – Trans-Savoie guided tours, amazing Alpine singletrack breaks and riding holidays based out of two Alpine locations are also available – ideal for those who want an Alpine adrenaline fix without the pressure of racing.
