Was Blenkinsop running a set of flat bars at Schladming? Anyway, flat bars seem to be popular at the moment. If a lower front end, more aggressive riding style is what you’re after then maybe you need to try out a pair of flatties.
This is what the guys at RHUK said:
So now we have finished testing the new Nickel WIDE flat bars, production has started. Intended use is DH, enduro, whatever you got.
The vital stats are 780mm wide, 31.8mm clamp, 9’bend. Prototype bars weighed 284g at 780mm with imperfections. Production bars should come in at 280g – expected MSRP around £54.99. Available in polished black and polished gunmetal.
We reckon 9′ is neutral enough for most riders and means that by tilting the bar in the clamp you can get good combinations of up and back sweep ie. 4.5′ back and 4.5′ up, or 4′ back and 5′ up however you want. You can always cut them down so don’t worry if you prefer 750mm, it’s just a tad harder to make them longer if you start at 750mm. The first bars arrive in 4 weeks so get your order in at your favourite RHUK stockist or visit the Dealer page.
