Blimey what a race?! Surely one of the most exciting races this season?
Nick Beer nearly front flipping the step up, Damien Spagnolo going down hard after what looked like a winning run, Josh Bryceland nearly taking his first win. Mitch Ropelato and Matt Simmonds having great results after both having problems. Sam Hill slid out. Rob Warner was back on form!
But big congratulations to Brook MacDonald, what an awesome performance. By his own admission he’s had a really rough season, struggling to find form and not enjoying riding. But how things can chase in one race for the MS Mondraker rider from New Zealand, who now has won his first ever World Cup race.
One hell of a ride from the flat pedalled rider, look out Val d’Isere for the Bulldog party tonight!
Aaron Gwin also seals the 2012 World Cup overall title. Gwin had a tough weekend, crashing twice in qualifying which resulted in a cut hand needing stitches. Gwin didn’t complain about the injury, but it must have surely slowed the Trek rider down on this short fast physical course.
