Bad weather cancels iXS Euro DH race at Monte Tamaro.

Rachel Atherton and Remi Thirion take the win from Saturday’s qualifying results.

Sounds like Mother Nature got all heavy in Switzerland for the first round of the iXS European Downhill Cup at Monte Tamaro and the organisers had to take the tough decision to cancel the race. So the qualifying/seeding results counted as the final race result.

Word on the iXS website says: “Unfortunately, due to poor weather conditions had to be canceled at Monte Tamaro with dense fog and rain of the final run. This decision had to be taken because of security reasons. The seeding run is now considered final.”

How the weather looked at Monte Tamaro. I imagine it would be impossible for the medical helicopter to fly in these conditions. Photo: www.ixsdownhillcup.com
