‘Ard Rock Enduro 2014 – Entries Now Open!

After a hugely successful debut event last year the ‘Ard Rock Enduro is back for 2014, and the entires are now open. Even in it’s first year the entries for this race went fast, so if you fancy taking part this year I wouldn’t hang about. Anyway, here’s the lowdown on the event, and a gallery from last years race…

The UK’s premier all natural Enduro and All Mountain Sportive.  August 2nd and 3rd 2014, Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

This August in stunning Swaledale, North Yorkshire the ‘Ard Rock Enduro and All-Mountain event is back to put the mountain back into mountain bike racing again. As they say up Dale, this I’nt no trail centre, it’s the centre of the trails.

‘Ard Rock Enduro will offer exclusive, specially selected timed stages in 100% natural and rough, rock-strewn terrain. The rally-style special segments will be incorporated into an amazing 40km+ (in country miles!) loop of the Scott Trial motor cycle territory around Reeth. Entrants also get the chance to tackle the whole course against the clock in a one hot lap ‘sportive’ format at a reduced entry fee.

This scenic area boasts not only Lake District style descending and 500m hills, but we’re using the legacy of the industrial scarring of lead mining in the ‘Dale to throw in some scree and loose rock riding that’s hard to find anywhere else in the UK. There’s zero trail centre kitty litter or man made berms in ‘Ard Rock, just ancient trails and paths with loose, steep and technical riding under your wheels in places. The entire route will be purpose marked for our event and offers a ‘once only’ opportunity to hit up some quirky, natural rocky zones in the area.

‘Ard Rock Enduro’s event village will be based at the beautiful Dales Mountain Bike Centre, with its on site cafe and bike shop. Superb, level camping facilities and parking for 500 hundred competitors is right next door by the River Swale in Fremington. ‘Ard Rock Enduro is aimed squarely at offering maximum good times and therefore open to all riders, ages and abilities. The clearly marked course is fully rideable by all, although the terrain will offer a challenging mixture of flat out fast gulleys and off road tracks, steep rocky chutes and technical moorland singletrack that demands skill, technical ability and superb fitness to race at speed against the clock.

Whether you want to go flat out for glory or enjoy an amazing chilled weekend riding with your mates in mid summer, for all riders it’s a chance to ride amazing exclusive trails in great company and enjoy the atmosphere of the Yorkshire Dales.
