Last Saturday saw twelve aspiring downhill riders take to the Welsh countryside to ride and learn from the best, when they spent the day with The Atherton’s at their local downhill course, Revolution Bike Park in Llangynog.
Over 1600 people applied for the chance to spend the day with Dan, Gee and Rachel, who passed on their expertise and advice over an all day session at the home of the famous quarry line showcased in the final episode of the online series ‘Four By Three’.
Speaking about the day, Gee Atherton said: “It’s great to spend a day with people who are so clearly passionate about mountain biking. I hope that they took something from the experience and we were able to help them push their riding up a level.”
The Atherton’s were also joined on the day by GT Team mechanic Matteo, who spent time with each of the twelve riders and their bike to make sure their set up was perfect for their individual riding style.
One of the riders to take part in the day, 21 year old Joe Sullivan, said: “I saw that Red Bull were offering the chance to ride with the Atherton’s and applied to improve my riding and gain more confidence on my bike. All three of them were so down to earth and friendly – my highlight was Gee chasing me down the free ride, making me push myself to the limit. All in all it was a great weekend.”
