PRESS RELEASE
2016 Scottish Enduro Series – Dates and Venues Confirmed

There is little doubt that when it comes to mountain bike enduro racing in the UK, Scotland has one hell of a lot to offer. Today, the Scottish Enduro Series have released their dates and venues for 2016:

March 12th and 13th Dunkeld
April 16th and 17th Fort William
June 11th and 12th Glenlivet
August 13th and 14th Laggan
September 10th and 11th Dunoon
October 15th and 16th Ae

The series will visit two new venues in 2016 – Dunkeld and Dunoon. Both offer completely different attractions and they each reflect the aims of the series – to take riders to great new venues, face new challenges and experience awesome riding.

Frazer Coupland, one of the series partners says, “It is certainly an exciting line up for 2016 and we are looking forward to the new venues. We have gained significant experience over the first two years of the series, working with a variety of land managers, trail builders and local enthusiasts – ensuring that participants get the very best experience at every round. It is very important to us that communities have an opportunity to benefit from the economic impact of the events and that the destinations benefit from the legacy of the Scottish Enduro Series. We will continue to build upon this in 2016.”

Next year will again see the inclusion of the Enduro Lite category, with around one hundred riders sampling the category in 2015. This is a great opportunity for some riders to progress their riding towards full-on race mode while others prefer the shortened, less technical courses.

The 2015 season has seen some great racing across the categories with places often separated by less a second in some classes. Race time for the Elite riders ranged from just under 14 minutes to over 23 minutes across the series.

Series partner Duncan Nisbet commented on the rise of enduro racing across the UK and further afield, “From the early days of the Avalanche races and the Innerleithen Winter Series, enduro racing has fast become the most popular format for mountain bike racing in the UK. With a sold out series in 2015 and one thousand individual competitors, the Scottish Enduro Series will continue to evolve the sport in Scotland in 2016. Our pedigree has been recognised internationally with the top two male and female series winners guaranteed a start place at the Enduro World Series. There is only one Scottish Enduro Series.”

Series winners for 2015 were Liam Moynihan and Katy Winton, a full race report from the final round at Innerleithen will be out in the next few days.

Entries for the series open on Monday the 20th October and just like this year, there are 50 discounted season tickets up for grabs at a price of £250.

Entries will be fixed again at £50 per race and £40 for the Lite Category.
